Wheeling the patient to the car.

Thank you Dr. Horn!

Lily’s trip to the ER for stitches tonight. We had just walked into David Crowder Band Tour stop at Southland Christian Church in Lexington - when Lily fell and gashed her head deep enough to need treatment. The resource sales table offered us t-shirts to apply pressure and stop the bleeding. Thank you! So off we went to the ER. Thankfully Grandy was with us. This same thing happened to Lily last year while we were with Grandy in NC…She is one tough little girl! Grandy and MK are troopers - and great comforts for Lil.
“The Stars of the Pharaohs” The Indianapolis Children’s Museum Planetarium did a special series on the “Stars and Skies of the Pharaohs” while King Tut’s Tomb was being showcased. I blogged about this field trip in earlier posts - Oct 19th - but just got the video to work. Therefore I am reposting it now.
Our trip to Indianapolis to visit King Tut’s tomb was the culmination and celebration of this time - and a reward for great work on first quarter exams:-). This exhibit reinforced we had learned and brought it all to life. A real treat for us all.
Wanted to share another great resource from our last nine weeks history study of Ancient Egypt. ”Walking the Bible” - a great way to connect the dots. We were able to find it in our public library. See http://www.pbs.org/walkingthebible
In our journey with the Pharaohs of Ancient Egypt we have been able to place Biblical history into a large world history and enter the cultural context in which this story was written. As we have read together the Torah - the first five books of the Bible - these “Bible stories” have come alive - and we have begun to see ourselves in this Great Story. It has become our Story! It is truly the Greatest Love Story ever told.
It is a story of Covenant - God’s promise and agreement throughout generations to those who would but trust in His love and follow. It is a story of Redemption - His mighty hand bringing those in slavery and oppression into freedom. It is a story of signs and wonders - God revealing power and authority as the One True God. It is a story of Grace - God sustaining, providing and leading His Beloved Possession into a land of “milk and honey”. And it is a Story of radical surrender - but its path leads to a place where the Most High dwells. Not because we are good - but because He is Great! We are His People - brought out of slavery —- so that we may know Him, our Creator and lover of our souls.
