An Ordinary Day in the Life: Quotidian Mysteries
Grateful…
I am writing this post not only on the heels of Thanksgiving and my 40th birthday - but also on the eve of the season of Advent.  In reviewing old posts and reflecting on what this past year has brought - I find it to be an appropriate time to begin logging our journey here once again.
Advent (from the Latin word adventus meaning “coming”) is a time of expectant waiting and preparation for the celebration of the coming of Jesus at Christmas.  I want to enter this time of expectancy alert and ready…with eyes to see and ears to hear…”fully alive”.
A good friend, Louie Giglio, spoke a word to the Passion City Church in Atlanta, GA last Sunday - and it was for me.  As he led us to ask ourselves what it really means to be “alive” - I left with a deepened desire for “real life”, and I am breathing the prayer, “live” in moments throughout each day.
You can hear it yourself here http://www.passioncitychurch.com/watch/#20101121
In a posture of gratitude and expectancy I claim 40…Ready to “live”!  Realizing each day is a gift and that I am a fragile human in need all of God’s grace!
