An Ordinary Day in the Life: Quotidian Mysteries

Date Night with Mary Kathryn at the College

This was one of those nights!  As a parent there are those rare moments when you feel like you have “seen” - not just “managed” your child.  In the midst of busy schedules, tasks to accomplish, friendships to maintain, duties to fulfill - sometimes the seeing of the other person is impaired.  I am guilty of too often being quick to set the agenda and steer the course while missing the “real” opportunity for soul connection and relationship.  Isn’t this what it is all about!  This is requiring a clear “laying aside” of the “me” - so to better “see” the other.  But, oddly enough, it is the most life giving - not life taking away thing I can do.

God, thank you for this glimpse once again.  Keep my eyes on the horizon…on the goal…that I may see each moment as it comes.
